"Easy Japanese" course will be held!

"Easy Japanese" course to convey your thoughts

As of the end of July 2024, there are approximately 3,500 foreign residents living in Kusatsu City, with a wide variety of nationalities and native languages. As nationalities and languages become more diverse, "easy Japanese" is useful for communicating with foreign residents. "Easy Japanese" is Japanese that is easy for foreigners to understand, without using difficult words, terms, or expressions. By using this "easy Japanese," there is a lot you can communicate when communicating with foreigners.

Kusatsu City formulated the "Kusatsu City Multicultural Coexistence Promotion Plan" in April 2021, aiming to create a local community where everyone who lives, works, and studies in Kusatsu City can thrive by making the most of their diversity, while respecting each other's human rights and individuality, regardless of differences in nationality, etc. As part of this initiative, we are working to utilize and promote "easy Japanese."

In this course, you will learn about the necessity of multicultural coexistence in Kusatsu City, as well as learn about easy Japanese through basic courses and workshops, and learn tips for conveying your thoughts to others in an easy-to-understand way.

Anyone can participate, including those who have the opportunity to come into contact with foreigners in their daily lives or at work, those who want to communicate with foreigners, and those who are interested in international exchange and understanding.

Why not try using "Easy Japanese" to promote multicultural coexistence in your everyday life? Please feel free to join us.
