Kusatsu Post Town Walking Tour and Workshop

(Ukiyo-e painting experience) information

On Sunday, June 29th, we will be holding a walking tour of the post town of Kusatsu and a workshop (ukiyo-e painting experience).

In the morning, you will walk along the old road, visiting famous spots such as Tachiki Shrine, Ota Sake Brewery (Dokanzo), Kaido Koryukan, Kusatsujuku Honjin, and Oiwake Doshisha. In the afternoon, you will participate in a workshop at de Ai Hiroba (an ukiyo-e painting experience using Aobana (blue flower) sill, a specialty of Kusatsu).

You can take your work home in a photo frame!

Please feel free to join us as this is an opportunity for international exchange with international students and local foreigners.

[Notice regarding coverage on the day of the tour]

The tour will be accompanied by radio station FM Kusatsu staff covering the day's activities throughout the day. During the interview, we may take photographs of the tour and record the participants' voices. *Interviews and recordings will be conducted with the prior permission of the participants. *When taking photographs, we will take care to ensure that the participants' faces are not photographed from the front.

[Participation fee] Payment in cash on the day (please prepare exact change)

●KIFA members, foreigners, elementary and junior high school students: 500 yen

●General Japanese: 1,000 yen (※Membership fee applies if you join KIFA (annual membership fee: 2,000 yen))

What to bring:

Participation fee, lunch box, drinks, rain gear (umbrella, raincoat, etc.), trash bag (please take your trash home with you)

*If available, please bring photo ID (for admission discount) *No other fees will be charged besides the participation fee.
